|Description of Species
||Undershrub upto 90 cm; stem, petioles and pedicels densely or sparsely velutinous with minute stellate and a few simple hairs. Leaves ovate to suborbicular, 3-8 × 2-7 cm, sometimes lobed, cordate, usually dentate, acute or acuminate, 7-9-nerved; petiole 2-6 cm; stipules linear 2.5-5 mm, acute. Flowers solitary, axillary, 1.5-2.5 cm across, deflexed; pedicel 3-6.2 cm, usually much longer than petiole, acresscent, jointed near apex. Calyx widely campanulate, 4-5 mm long, 5-fid to 5-parted, shorter than the schizocarp, stellately spreading in fruit; segments broadly ovate to triangular, mucronate, velutinous with stellate hairs on bothsides. Corolla yellow to pale orange without purple centre; petals broadly obovate, apex rounded, truncate or emarginate, base ciliate. Staminal column 5-7 mm long, conical at the basal part, stellate hairy, upper portion tubular, glabrous. Schizocarp globose, 1.5-2.3 cm diam, apex truncate or slightly indented; mericarps 15-22, flattened reniform, much longer than the calyx, 12 × 9 mm, apex truncate, with an erect acute mucro, laterally glabrous, dorsally covered with stellate hairs. Seeds 2-3 per mericarp, reniform, 2-3 mm across, punctate by minute warts, glabrous or sparsely and minutely stellate hairy.
