||Deciduous trees, to 30 m high; bark grey, smooth with brownish specks. Leaves alternate, orbicular-ovate, 10-15 x 4.5-9 cm, long, acuminate, entire, undulate, thinly coriaceous, shining above, glabrous with cystolith beneath; nerves 3-5 from base; lateral nerves 6-8 pairs; petioles 6-12 cm long. Figs in axillary pairs, sessile, globose, to 1.2 cm across, dark purple when ripe; basal bracts 3, suborbicular, pubescent.
